Understanding the City’s Sales Tax – Not a Double Tax Will I be taxed by both the City and the County? No. The Missouri Supreme Court recently ruled that cities have the first opportunity to implement a 3% sales tax on non-medical marijuana. If Cassville’s tax is approved, the 3% collected would go to the City of Cassville—not Barry County.

Attention residents on Ivey, Sapp, Presley and Oak Hill: Please be advised that Water Service Line Inspections are coming to your street. The process consists of hydro-excavating two small inspection pits on either side of the water meter and then recording the pipe size and type of pipe material. The pothole excavations and inspections will not affect your water service and will be minimally invasive to public right of way or utility easements. Water service line inspections are being completed with the assistance of grant funds secured from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. The results will be incorporated into a system wide water service line inventory; a federally mandated program intended to locate and replace lead pipes and fittings in water service lines. Historically there have been very few lead pipes or fittings found in Cassville and yearly water quality testing shows lead levels are substantially below state and federal allowable levels. For additional information on water service line inspections or your drinking water in general please contact City Hall at 847-4441.
