The City of Cassville is a city of the fourth class governed by a Mayor-City Administrator-Board of Aldermen form of government. The Mayor serves a two-year term and is elected on a non-partisan, at-large basis. Board members serve a two-year term with two members serving from each of two wards within the City, on a staggered two-year election rotation. Before you file your declaration of candidacy with the City Clerk, you must file form 5120 with the Missouri Department of Revenue. A copy of this filing must be brought to City Hall and must accompany your declaration of candidacy.

City Council meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, at 5:30 p.m. in Council chambers, at the rear of City Hall. Citizens wishing to address the Board of Aldermen at a regular City Council meeting are requested to complete and submit a Request to Address City Council form. The form must be received by the City Clerk no less than seven days prior to the meeting date.
Mayor Shiveley has served in his position since 2012. He had previously served as North Ward Alderman for two terms in the early eighties. Bill retired from Barry Electric Cooperative as General Manager in 2017. He is a member of the South Barry County Hospital District Board of Directors and the Mercy Hospital West Region Board. Bill served four years in the United States Navy before returning to Cassville in 1971 where he and his wife Dianne have made their home.
Alderman Marple has served the North Ward since 2014. Jerry was in public education as a teacher, coach, and administrator for 23 years. He was part owner of Willis Insurance agency for 23 years as well. He has been active in youth baseball, YMCA board, Cassville Chamber of Commerce, Little League and Rotary Club. He is a member of the Gideon’s and the United Methodist church. He serves as a volunteer bailiff for the Barry County Judicial Center. Jerry, his wife Linda, and son Jeremy have lived in Cassville for 34 years.
Alderman Horner has served the North Ward since 2015. He works at a locally owned independent bank in Cassville and is a published novelist. Jon is a 5th generation Barry Countian. He is a graduate of Cassville High School and Missouri State University. Jon is also a member of the Cassville Board of Education, Cassville United Methodist Church, Barry County 911 Board, Crowder College Foundation, and the Cassville Rotary Club. He has served two terms as President of the Cassville Chamber of Commerce. Jon and his wife Darla live in Cassville.
Alderman Vining has served the South Ward since 2016. Mike is a teacher and coach at Southwest R-5 school district. He also enjoys officiating football, baseball and basketball games in the area.
Alderman Weaver was elected to the South Ward Alderman's position in April of 2019.
